Diane Kashin is an early childhood educator in the province of Ontario, Canada where she has taught early childhood education for over 30 years. She has been a presenter and keynote speaker at workshops and conferences across Canada and internationally. Diane has co-written three textbooks with Beverlie Dietze: Playing and Learning in Early Childhood Education, 2nd Edition (2018); Outdoor and Nature Play in Early Childhood Education (2018); and Empowering Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education (2016). She has also self-published a book, Nature Ideas, to support outdoor and nature pedagogy. Diane is the past president of the Association for Early Childhood Educators of Ontario and the current chair of the York Region Nature Collaborative. Her areas of interest include forest and nature schools, risky play, loose parts, and Reggio inspired practices, outdoor play, and emergent curriculum.
